I would like to wish all Malaysians Chinese a very Happy Lunar New Year.

As we usher in the Year of the Tiger, let us hope that this New Year will continue to bring about peace, prosperity and unity amongst all Malaysians. We should also take time today to reflect on the
uniqueness that is our country – nowhere else are so many racial and religious festivities marked and celebrated so extensively in a single year.

In perfecting a united nation under the banner of 1Malaysia, let us never lose the distinctively Malaysian reality – in which diversity is cherished and employed to our advantage; and where common national aspirations exist despite all that is different between us.
